What is Volta?

Volta is a term which is used in sonnet. It is related with the feeling of the poet in a sonnet.

It is a turning point that occurs at the end of an octave and marks the change of feelings or thought between the octave and the sestet. In other words the point when the feeling of the octave is replaced by the next feeling of the sestet, the point of changing of the feeling is called Volta.
